How to Use a VN Code, Step by Step

How to use a VN code, step by step

Found a VN code for an edit you love? Here's exactly how to turn it into your own video.

Step 1: Install VN Video Editor from your phone's official app store (it's free). Open it once so it finishes setup.

Step 2: Get the code. VN codes are usually shared as QR-style images or short code strings by creators — on YouTube, Telegram, or Instagram. Save the image or copy the code.

Step 3: Scan it in VN. In the VN app, look for the scan/import option (usually near project creation) and scan the code image or enter the code. VN will download the project template — this includes the edit structure: cuts, effects, transitions, text layers, and music timing.

Step 4: Replace the media. The template loads with the creator's placeholder clips. Tap each clip slot and swap in your own photos or videos. Keep an eye on clip lengths — templates are timed to the music, so match your clips to the existing durations for the best result.

Step 5: Adjust and export. Tweak text, colors, or effects to make it yours, then export. Start with 1080p / 30fps for social — it's the sweet spot of quality and file size.

Tips worth knowing

  • Music may not transfer. If the template's audio is missing (copyright), add your own trending sound in the social app after exporting.
  • Learn from the timeline. Zoom into the template's timeline to see how effects are stacked — it's one of the fastest ways to level up your editing.
  • Only scan codes from creators you trust. A VN code is just a project file, but the habit of scanning random codes from shady sites is worth keeping clean.
